CONTAG career has allowed in the past ten years, developing and implementing the Project for Alternative Rural Development Solidarity (PADRSS), which proposes a new relationship between town and country, and the prospect of a development project that includes fairness, opportunity, social justice, environmental preservation, food security and sovereignty, and economic growth.

The starting point for developing PADRSS was the design of sustainable rural development, whose axes are based on the struggle for agrarian reform, the strengthening of family agriculture, the struggle for labor rights and better living conditions for male and female employees in rural areas, the construction of new attitudes and values to the social relations of gender and generation, and in the struggle for social policies and the democratization of public spaces.

The implementation of these routes has led to a reorganization of the structure and agenda of CONTAG. Departments have been created specifically for the fronts of struggle, such as women and youth, and representation for the elderly. The changes allowed to submit a proposal for differentiated credit policy for family farming, with support from partners. Is an essential contribution to the creation of the National Program to Strengthen Family Agriculture (PRONAF), which is constantly modified to meet all the needs of the farmers of our country.
