The Charles Léopold Mayer Foundation for Human Progress (formerly Fondation pour le Progrès de l’Homme, hence the acronym FPH) is an independent foundation under Swiss law, through differents kinds of supports contribute to three mayor changes: a revolution in governance in order to manage the new interdependence between human beings, between societies, and between humanity and the biosphere; the search for a universal ethic of responsibility; the creation of a sustainable society.

The project 2003 - 2010: to contribute to the emergence of a world community.

Objectives:

The current patterns of life and management of our society is not viable in long term, the global community must be able to:

  • develop and implement new regulatory and governance,
  • manage the world based on ethical principles,
  • develop and promote a sustainable society, new lifestyles, new ways of production and consumption, new forms of development and dissemination of knowledge.
     

Means:

To contribute to this change, the Foundation has:

  • an international network based on relationships of trust: its social capital
  • methods and tools of collective intelligence: its methodological capital
  • a philosophy of dialogue between cultures and environments: the symbolic capital
  • regular income to guarantee the independence: its financial capital
    proposals from an international working group: its intellectual capital
     

Modes of  action:

  • development of citizens alliances and regional networks, thematic and socio-professional capables to design and implement these changes,
  • development and implementation of tools and methods of collective intelligence at the service of networks of alliances,
  • the dissemination and discussion of experiences, reflections and proposals.
