Sustainable Earth Alliance

 

The Sustainable Earth International University is a new type of university, under construction.

 

The decision was taken in Reñaca (Chile) during a meeting involving organizations and social movements, representatives of public and private universities, the movement of popular education and NGOs.

It seeks to construct itself as an international space for reflection / action that collects, enhances and projects the future experience at international level, of social organizations and civil society. Its central objective, training of social leaders capable of dealing with the world community, the challenges of globalization and the 21st century.

 

To this end, UITC must have the appropriate means and methods :

 

  • understand the changes that have occurred in past centuries to redefine new paradigms apply to the 21st century, 
  • invent a new form of citizen governance beyond the current ideological patterns and to rethink state, society and democracy in their mutual transformation.
  • seek exchange and complementarity of different knowledge (local, traditional, scientific) to generate new knowledge useful to think and participate in building the future.

 

 

 

The Sustainable Earth International University engages in several types of actions:

 

 

  • The exchange of international experience in training of social leaders, civic training conducted both in universities, the movement of popular education and NGOs.
  • Support for dynamic formation of social leaders in different continents (Africa, Latin America, Asia, Europe)
  • The construction of new knowledge and useful references for training, mobilizing Case Studies in Multiple Dimensions (ECADIM) on various strategic issues.
  • The construction and testing of training modules in e-learning for social leaders and citizens.
  • The production of new knowledge about concepts, ideas, projects using new collaborative methods to break the "productivist science" today.
  • The creation of creative moments, valuing different knowledge, fostering a real presence of people and promoting a dialogue that generates change.

At the time of coordination meeting of the Sustainable Earth Alliance of Nant (Aveyron), Sustainable Earth International University has held eight decentralized University "Global Terroir" on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 July , 2009 in several villages, houses and farms in Larzac and Dourbie Valley.
