Initiative Construction of local regulation of access to natural resourcesAGTER identified two main methods of feeding site resources. The first is to study literature and write fact sheets from the relevant documents that already exist. In the first case, it is about to reformulate, synthesize, and possibly translate information to make it accessible to everyone.
The second method is to promote collective reflection in order to produce all of the information "new", from which the group will produce written sheets, videos, etc. on a specific theme. All materials will be a "dossier". The discussion will revolve around collective study tours, during which the participants (from countries and different backgrounds) compare their analyses of a reality they do not know directly.
The first dossier AGTER decided to build this way is on the issue of local regulation of access to natural resources. Two study tour (with the same small group of participants) are held on this subject: the first will take place in Mexico during the second week of April 2008, and the second in the Alps, in October 2008.
The two trips will be filmed and the video will both take stock on substantive issues (What has been seen? why these experiences are interesting in relation to our theme?), and on methodological issues (How does the group dynamics and what is the point of changing the geographic origins and profiles of participants? How is the reflection built from a foreign reality?). The video tool is our best ally to ensure that what has been learned during the trip does not remain confined to 15 or 20 participants, but can be distributed and shared. Founding documents:
Relations with other allies:The study tour of Mexico is organized with local partners (association GEA, RAISES networks, GAIA) who know the subject and field of study. Elements of schedule:The first trip (Mexico) will take place from 6 to 12 April , 2008, the second (Alps) in early October 2008. At the end of the year 2008, the complete dossier on the subject of local regulation of access to resources will be put online. |
Synergy with others initiatives: Did you know?It is invisible to the naked eye, but the plankton is essential for the balance of our planet. If the plankton disappears, so does the humanity. The ignorance of the general public is a factor in its fragility. Everything must be done for plankton as for the survival of polar bears.
