International Meeting on "Universities and training of social leaders"
Reñaca - Valparaiso. Chile. 8 to 13 December 2008
Meeting organized by the University of the Sea, the World Forum of fishermen, the Sustainable Earth Alliance and the FPH. A good balance between Universities (public and private universities), organizations of popular education, representatives of social movements (peasants, fishermen, inhabitants..). Participants from Latin America, Europe, Africa and Asia. An important decision: the creation of an "International University Terre Citoyenne". This university integrating these three components (Universities, NGOs, social movements), shall promote the development of training citizens and social leaders in universities outside the universities, promote trade, validating training, create e-learning modules.
