The Department of Economic and Social Sciences of the Polytechnic University of Valencia is organising the meeting on «International University Terre Citoyenne» which will take place from 7th to 11th March 2001 in the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain.
This meeting, developed with the conviction that it is possible to create a venue for reflection and debate in which citizens from four continents will participate, will bring together people concerned about the training of future generations.

It will provide a forum for exchanges around the following subject matters: 

• The role of training in society. Teaching methods.

• Exhange and capitalization of experiences in citizenship training. Progress in training modules.

• Construction of the Internationale University Terre Citoyenne. Decision-making process.

The International University Terre Citoyenne, UiTC, is a new type of university aiming to: - the creation of new know-how of use to all actors, - the creation of a new venue for exchanges at the international level, - the training of citizens, stakeholders and social leaders, - the organization of events likely to generate transformations and changes in both face-to-face and distance participants. The meeting will also be an opportunity to gain a better understanding of the University and of the Chair Terre Citoyenne/FPH, which will be formally established during these days. New multimedia resources will be available for international exchanges with other people concerned or involved in the construction of this international university.
